I bought two of these to use at a party, but I wasn't thinking because they cross-talk, so you can really only use one at a time. It would be nice if there were selectable frequencies on the bottom like I have seen in other RC toys.

We have had a lot of fun with this toy. Very cute- adds a new & exciting dimension to the classic game of hot/cold hide & seek. I would have ordered more of them for our friends, but they were sold out at Christmas.

Great value -- kids loved this for Christmas -- I was very surprised: it kept them entertained for hours. My four year old likes it more than my seven year old, but they both like playing together with it. Worth the money. Seems durable. A good purchase.

The Treasure Hunter provides tons of fun when someone hides the bottom piece and someone (or a whole group of chaotic kids) starts the search! The seekers use the top portion of the Treasure Hunter to provide clues with changing colors and frequency of beeps. Just like the old "you're getting colder" game, blue=cold and red=hot on a light up display treasure map. As long as someone was willing to keep hiding the treasure portion, this game kept our kids busy for quite some time.

My son got this for his 4th birthday and it was the best gift he received!!! I saw it advertised and convinced my sister to purchase it. I was glad I did. My son and his brother/cousins/friends can play it for hours. It works with one child (I hide it for him) or with big groups. The batteries last a while but we go through a lot since it is a big hit. The only negative (besides batteries) is if it is hidden on one floor it may register on the floor above/below which confuses the kids. We have to sometimes give clues. It is great to keep the kids out of my hair when I am cooking!!! So far it has been 4 months and it is still a hit! Great for boys and girls.

This was a great gift for my 4yr old who loves Pirates. He really enjoys hiding and finding and also the tiny compartment that he can put his treasures in is a hit.

My boys, 3 and 2, loved this game. It was a little much for my youngest, but he loves following his brother around. The only problem is that it needs to distinguish better between the close. closer and closest sounds and the LED colours need to be a bit brighter. Still, it keeps them busy for ages and I am sure will be a huge hit for our upcoming Pirate B-day party. Thanks.

This keeps my 3 and a half year old(and his cousin) amused - they put little "treasures" inside the clear plastic cover for each of them to find. It was smaller than I anticipated but still cool.

This was a gift for my grandson's 5th birthday. He was so happy with it he took it with him to spend the night at his other grandma's. Also, I appreciated that the package arrived quickly, the presents were attractively wrapped and there were even some lolli-pops thrown in for an extra treat. Excellent service, excellent merchandise.

Our grandkids love taking turns hiding and finding the treasure. They ask for it every time they come. The ones who do the hiding are as excited as the ones hunting. And the thing always works. Also, they've dropped it many times, and it always holds together.

I was actually looking for something like this to have as a program for my daughters birthday party, and by chance found the Treasure Hunter game. I'm sure it'll be a hit with the 6-7 year old birthday guests. The only drawback seems to be the disturbingly high volume of the beeping sound - but I mostly solved that by placing a piece of tape over the loudspeaker hole.

We used the toy for a pirate themed birthday party game for my 10 year old, but I had a hard time keeping the older boys 17, and 13, and Dad from running the batteries out in the week before the party. Well made - it survived several drops, and easy to wipe off when sticky hands or mud from the yard get on the toy.
You hide one half of the chest and use the other to search for it. There is a compartment that notes or small treasures (a key or map) on one - and a pirate map with a lit X that beeps blue, yellow - orange to red, letting you know if you are hot - warm - or cold.
Great fun for the whole family or solo pretend play.

This toy was ALOT smaller then I thought it was going to be. It really is a small hand held toy. Best if used by one or two children. But I don't think it would be enough toy for a large group.

This toy is great for group play. My son and his friends really enjoy it. I like the way it adds hide and seek to their pretend Pirate adventures.
BTW While it is better to use the map to find the treasure, we also discovered that you can use the treasuire to find the map:
The kids accidentaly dropped the map into the bushes and could not find it. Fortunately it was already turned on, so we just waved the treasure over the bushes until the beeping of the map helped us locate it.
This toy can be used for "rainy day entertainment" with just one child, if you are willing to play along. I hid it upstairs while my son was downstairs. It tracks through the floor, so my son got the flashing red "hot" light from the map when he was actually directly under the treasure. It took him about fifteen minutes of experimenting to figure out that he needed to go upstairs. He thought it was hilarious.
I think the fact that it tracks through the floor might have frustrated a younger child, but my seven year old had a really good time.
