My son wanted it for his 12th birthday, and it arrived on time. He is pleased with it, so that means that i am pleased as well. Thanks.
Love it (Anthony, 4yo).
I love the variety of models and how they can interconnect with each other. My 7.5 year old was very excited when he saw the 2 dinosaurs and 2 aliens he got for Christmas. He dived right in the first day, eager to follow the instructions and put them together (he's been doing Lego for years). But some of the pieces were so hard to push in that he eventually grew frustrated and hasn't been as keen to mix 'n match the sets like he was in the beginning.
The ball and joint design is good for keeping the creatures together so they can be played with like action figures without falling apart, and it gives the them the ability to "pose", but getting them together in the first place can be hard work for kids (and adults -- I hurt my hand on some of them!). Maybe there's a "technique" to putting them together I missed in the instructions, so it could just be me. I just wanted to warn other parents that these are cool toys, but they aren't as easy as Lego to build. Once they are built though, they seem durable and stay built.

It rocks! It looks almost real! But, I wish they'd include more black rubbery parts, cause there's only four. Plus, I don't want to mix different Skeleflex sets. And, if you straighten the spine and neck, adjust the back flippers to look like feet, adjust the front flippers to look like arms, point it's body up, move the head down to make it look forward and point its tail up, it lt looks like a two legged monster. It's AWESOME!
