I wish we could find them in a nearby store. They are kind of pricey if you have to order, and pay shipping

I recommend this to anyone who wants to spark an interest in science in their child/children or grandchild/grandchildren. The excitement that my grandchild experienced waiting to see what was going to be revealed was a wonder to behold. Then the enjoyment of getting to put the dino together just topped off the fun. I'm glad to have found another place to buy science products for children.

We got this in April for my sons 5th birthday because he is a huge dinosaur fan and knows so much about them for his age(he even does a t-rex running impression that is very accurate.)

This is an excellent learning toy, very fun for young children, appealing to some girls (my daughter is 50% tomboy, 50% girly-girl and loves them - but she didn't know about the mermaids until today)

I would say buy this, but the extra eggs are very hard to find anywhere.

Pros:
Fun
Cons:
expensive for single use
Best Uses:
Indoor, Young Children
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:

It's fun for young kids to watch the volcano erupt, but these eggs are a bit expensive for only being able to use them once.

Wild Planet Response:Each egg also has dino parts that can be mixed or matched so there is repeat play.

My 5 year old can tell you! We've found the coolest dinosaur toys ever for our budding paleontologist -- Dino Magic!

He has a collection to rival the Museum of Natural History, and can point out all the flaws in the hit movie, Jurassic Park. He loves anything to do with dinosaurs.

A few weeks ago, my daughter told me about a toy called "Dino Magic", that involves tossing an egg into warm water, watching it fizz, and waiting for a dino to hatch.

We bought one -- and now the whole family is hooked.

Really--if you have a child who loves dinosaurs as much as mine, you've just got to try Dino Magic.
